KINETIC opens its fourth season with an evocative collage of three works inspired by the captivating shapes and sounds water takes on in particular physical spaces. The program begins with Grace Williams’ energetic Sea Sketches, whose vigorous string textures depict the Welsh coastline; this is followed by Grammy Award-winning American composer Michael Daugherty’s Fallingwater, a violin concerto inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. The program ends with the world-premiere string orchestra version of Ocean’s Call by emerging American composer Daniel Temkin.
