Lemond Kitchen

American Creole Table Dinner Series

Food, Wine and Culture Dinner Series

Lemond Kitchen is excited to be the official food and beverage partner at the MATCH. We will be opening a new cafe this Fall and it will definitely have a Creole and Southern  flair. Chef Reginald Martin is a third generation chef in a long line of cooks in the Lemond Family. His first culinary instructor was his dad, Reginald L. Martin Sr., an excellent southern cook. His maternal grandmother, Emelda Lemond, was born in Opelousas, Louisinana. She founded Lemond Catering in Houston in 1959 when she realized there was a void for catering in her community. His paternal grandmother, Betty Logan, was the private chef for the H&R Block family and traveled the world. His mother, Emelda Lemond-Martin, is known for her legendary wedding cakes in the Houston Area, especially her pineapple cream cheese cake.

Merinda Watkins-Martin credits her business skill development to her parents. She markets, designs and executes our events to delight our clients. Her father, Chester Watkins, was a decorated WWII vet who started a construction company and operated a farm in Acres Home and Tucker, Texas. She mastered her culinary skills preparing tea cakes, sweet potato pies, lemon pound cake and other classic southern dishes with her mom, Queen Elizabeth Watkins. The Martins have combined their shared culinary and business history to create the Lemond Kitchen brand.

We invite you to join us as we celebrate the unique culture, heritage, food and music with the first of our 4-part dinner series the "American Creole Table". Join us for a cocktail reception featuring classic southern spirits and appetizers, with a 3-course meal paired with wine.
