Why are prices changing?
I'm sure you're aware that inflation has been affecting prices everywhere, which directly affects ours costs operating the MATCH facility.
Additionally, while most events fully align with our mission, many others overlap considerably but don't match exactly. Accordingly, we are introducing a tiered pricing model that better reflects the different sorts of events that take place here.
Who is affected by the new prices?
Rental Fees
Event that were reserved prior to June 30, 2025 and are scheduled to take place before June 30, 2026 will be charged at the old rates. All newly-scheduled events will be subject to the new prices. We will also be charging the new rates for events that have already been scheduled after July 1, 2026, which should be enough time to make other plans if needed.
Ticket Fees
The new ticket fee will be applied to all tickets sold through the MATCH box office for events that start after July 1, 2025. Since the vast majority of renters pass these fees on to patrons, the increase should have minimal effect on most events. Our ticket fees remain lower than other venues in Houston.
Other Changes
MATCH Website
For events that don't use the MATCH Box Office, rental prices will be a little higher, but we will now feature all public events on our website and weekly email blasts, including those that are ticketed elsewhere.
Security Deposit
The required security deposit is not changing, but for events taking place in multiple venues, we will now require a deposit for each performance/event space used.
