A John Steven Kellett Memorial Series Production – World Premiere

WORLD PREMIERE : Melville & Hawthorne follows the year and a half that authors Herman Melville and Nathaniel Hawthorne spent living near each other while Melville wrote Moby Dick (which is dedicated to Hawthorne). It is based entirely on historical fact, filling in gaps to chronicle their growing feelings for each other. The play explores racial equality, sexual liberation, social justice, freedom, and the impact of literature on political events. This production, directed by Andrew Ruthven, is the latest from Thunderclap’s award-winning John Steven Kellett Memorial Series.Read more
