There's no doubt Africa is the cradle of civilization. This first segment will explore the vibrancy and dynamism of Central and West African music and cultural traditions, setting the frame for ideas and practices that would then be brought to the New World.

What would we be if it weren't for the strength and courage of the Ancestors, whose determination to preserve and re-create their heritage have made way for the artforms that we know and love today?
