Arthouse Houston is proud to present 9 TO 5, the outrageously fun comedy caper starring the legendary trio of Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton as our next Mobile Movie Palace event. The show will begin with live country music performed by Allison Holmes.

9 TO 5 is an office screwball comedy about three female secretaries who are tormented and disrespected by their tyrannical, sexist boss. While smoking pot one night, the trio hatch a plan to take revenge on the boss. After managing to trap him in his own house, they assume control of his department, and productivity leaps, but just how long can they keep him tied up?

Jane Fonda was inspired to produce 9 TO 5 by the true story of the 9to5 labor movement, which started with a group of Boston secretaries in the 1970s who organized for better pay, more advancement opportunities and an end to sexual harassment. Fonda wanted to make a film that promoted the workers' cause, while also being funny and entertaining, too.

Theater doors open at 7:00 PM. Arrive early to enjoy the live music performed by Allison Holmes with songs by Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and more followed by the feature film at 7:40 PM.

Allison Holmes is a local singer-songwriter, born and raised in Houston, Texas. She has explored myriad genres in her 15 years of on-stage experience, but her passion lies in using music as an avenue for speaking truth to power. She’s been a volunteer for Girls Rock Camp Houston and is one half of the duo Malibu Barbie Murder Machine.
