Reed the Room is the culminating event of a project that involves starting reed quintets in Houston area high schools, promoting chamber music performance experiences for students and their private teachers, commissioning new music for this ensemble, and bringing it all together for an evening of performances celebrating this reedy cool ensemble! The reed quintet features an oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, and bass clarinet, bringing together the vibrant sounds of single reed and double reed instruments. This event has been funded in part by the Houston Arts Alliance.
