The Russian Cultural Center Our Texas proudly presents Albina Shagimuratova, magnificent Russian coloratura soprano, who dazzled Houston Grand Opera audiences in recent years. Accompanied by pianist Tali Morgulis, Albina will give an intimate recital performance "Mozart and Rachmaninoff". The program includes seldom performed romances and opera arias for the coloratura soprano, such as “Exsultate, jubilate” (“Exult, rejoice”) by Mozart and "Daisies" by Rachmaninoff.
Albina Shagimuratova is one of the most distinguished stars of today's opera world. Albina, particularly known for her signature role as The Queen of the Night, is described by critics as a radiant soprano performing with a combination of vocal splendor and dramatic conviction. She is a graduate of the Houston Grand Opera Studio and has since triumphed on the stages of leading opera houses and concert halls around the world including Bolshoi Theatre, Metropolitan Opera, Hamburg State Opera, Vienna State Opera, Teatro alla Scala Milan, and frequent performances at Houston Grand Opera.
Israeli-American pianist Tali Morgulis, a "pianistic firecracker" hailed for performances "full of power and emotion," delivers vivid, imaginative programs to an ever-growing international audience.
