American Neoclassical Ballet was established in 2011 by Emilie Skinner and Victoria Dolph to bring collaborative concerts featuring neoclassical ballet to the Dallas community. The company enabled professional dancers to utilize their classical ballet training while honing their performance skills and for local choreographers, musicians, and artists to showcase their work. In 2019 Erin Boone was appointed the new Artistic Director and Daniel Boone the Executive Director. In September of that same year the company relocated to Houston. American Neoclassical Ballet is a non-profit with a  501(c)(3) status. 

American Neoclassical Ballet’s first concert program was Kaguya Hime–an adaption from an ancient Japanese tale–on May 2012 at the Bishop Arts Theater Center and the Crow Collection of Asian art. This was the first of many collaborative productions and featured work by Homecoming! Committee, an assembly of artists based in Fort Worth, Texas. Other innovative works that premiered in Dallas include Masque of the Red Death at the Majestic Theater, Futurisme à Pied and Cosmic Fiction at Moody Performance Hall, and Myth and Magick, Blind Tiger and company’s annual Horror Series at the Sammons Center for the Arts. 

American Neoclassical Ballet established ongoing partnerships with organizations vital to the Dallas arts community such as the historic Texas Theater in Oak Cliff, Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts Division of Music, the Dallas Public Library, and the Dallas Museum of Art. In 2017, American Neoclassical Ballet was invited to perform at the Dallas Public Library’s celebration in honor of Marcel Duchamp’s 130th birthday and also served as the only performing act at the 30th anniversary screening of Robocop at Dallas City Hall presented by SYFY. In addition, the company performed the Romantic classic Pas de Quatre in the Horchow Auditorium at the Dallas Museum of Art in 2018.
