The Elin Pelin Foundation is a not-for-profit educational organization located in the north part of Houston, Texas. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality Bulgarian language instruction and cross-cultural experience for both children and adults. We have a school that welcomes students of all nationalities and backgrounds from Houston and its neighboring areas. Our library provides free access to Bulgarian articles, books, and journals to those interested in learning about Bulgarian culture, history, and heritage
Elin Pelin Foundation was established in June 2012 to promote Bulgarian cultural traditions and national heritage. We strive to unite Bulgarian-Americans in the greater Houston area and promote our customs and language across the entire community.
What We Do
Elin Pelin Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides educational classes, social events, cultural performances, and networking events to enrich our local community.
Our projects include:
- First Bulgarian School “Elin Pelin” – established to instruct children in Bulgarian language, literature, history and geography.
- “Elin Pelin” Library – a collection of over 1,200 periodicals, books, and educational publications in Bulgarian, English, and Russian.
- Elin Pelin Social Events – projects that foster appreciation for the performing arts and provide opportunities to promote business networking among Houstonians.
