The Landing Theatre Company is dedicated to advancing American Theatre through the cultivation of extraordinary American playwriting and presenting American works that have significant artistic worth to our community, our culture and ourhistory.
The Landing Theatre Company is devoted exclusively to American playwriting. Our goal has been to positively impact American playwriting nationally, and present important productions of American plays for our community. Over our seven-year history, The Landing Theatre Company has helped develop 19 new plays, produced 13 full productions, paid 586 artists for productions, readings, workshops, and professional services, and received 15 nominations for awards, including 2017 Houston Theater Awards nomination for Best New Play for SMALL JOKES ABOUT MONSTERS by Stephen Strafford, and winning Best New Play in 2013 from the Broadway World Houston Awards for the world première of “EXIT 27” by Aleks Merilo.
Our yearly New American Voices Play Reading Series remains a national hallmark for the company, which annually receives more than 400 submissions from American playwrights, and showcases four winning plays from around the country.
