Mexico, Legends, and Heritage

Grupo de Teatro Índigo (Indigo), in collaboration with Umalayapem Dance Company , is delighted to present a 5 de Mayo Magazine Show, it is titled Cinco de Mayo: Mexico, Legends and Heritage , a vibrant and immersive live event that will celebrate the historical, cultural, and artistic significance of Cinco de Mayo.

It is a multidisciplinary show that will include dance, music, singing and acting, designed to be an engaging, multifaceted program that explores the profound meaning of Mexico's victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 and its lasting impact on the Mexican identity.

Our vision is to blend historical insight, cultural expression, and artistic performance in an engaging, family-friendly magazine format that captures the spirit of this important holiday. The program will not only pay tribute to the historical events of Cinco de Mayo, but also to the rich traditions of Mexican food, music, dance, and storytelling that continue to thrive in communities across the globe.Read more
