Iconic dancer Rama Vaidyanathan explores the evocative poetry of two mystical women saint-poets

MAD and DIVINE explores the mystical and ecstatic works of legendary women poet-saints who transcended social norms to express their uninhibited devotion to the Supreme. The choreography centers on the spiritual expressions of mystic poets,13th-century Marathi saint Janabai and 14th-century Kashmiri poet Lalleshwari / Lal Ded . It contrasts Janabai’s intimate, personified devotion with Lal Ded’s abstract, formless spiritual realization. Choreographed and performed by Rama Vaidyanathan , the presentation uses classical Bharatanatyam to translate intense spiritual intoxication, philosophical inquiry, and divine fervor into evocative movement and expression. The performance features original musical scores set to distinct regional and literary traditions, incorporating live vocals, percussion, and melodic instruments to mirror the emotional arc of the poetry.Read more

Gente de Teatro celebrates its 31st anniversary with EL TEST (The Test) by playwright Jordi Vallejo, winner of Spain’s Fray Luis de León Theater Award and Argentina’s prestigious ACE Award for Best Comedy.

What starts as an innocent game ends up questioning everything: love, success, failure, friendship, ethics, the fear of time's passage, and the small lies each character has used to construct their identity.

Written by Donald Margulies, Directed by Curtis Barber

The end of a marriage is never just between two people.

Beneath the veneer of successful careers, elegant dinners, and decades-long friendships lies a more complicated truth. In Donald Margulies’ Pulitzer Prize-winning Dinner with Friends , a shocking divorce sends ripples through the lives of two couples who thought they knew one another—and themselves. What follows is a razor-sharp, darkly funny examination of love, loyalty, desire, and the stories we tell to sustain our closest relationships.

Sophisticated, provocative, and emotionally devastating, Dinner with Friends peels back the layers of modern marriage to reveal the fragile fault lines beneath. Margulies’ incisive dialogue and unflinching honesty make this contemporary classic as relevant today as ever, challenging audiences to ask: How well do we really know the people we love?Read more
