Greg Audel . . . Chapter1!

Date TIme
Wednesday, Apr. 19 7:30 PM

An Evening with Award Winning Storyteller Greg Audel will take you along as he practices the unique hobby he chose at 12-years old, which was quite simply to visit with every celebrity and world leader who intrigued him.

This hobby began with his quest to befriend then-President Jimmy Carter with a determination not even a President could resist. In fact, many of them couldn't.

From getting trapped with Bob Hope in his limousine, to watching Danny Devito order the bombing of Russia while sitting behind President Clinton's desk in the Oval Office, to fateful, and lovely, encounters with Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Barbara Bush, Nelson Mandela, Oprah Winfrey, Lena Horne, Phyllis Diller, Ray Charles, George Carlin, Johnny Cash, Shirley MacLaine, Gov. Ann Richards and dozens of other legends, you’ll not just be in the room, but in the mind and heart of the crazy kid who escaped his reality by creating an entirely new one for himself.

You'll also follow Greg on his quest to make a difference to a village in Africa, to our neighbors who find themselves without homes or shelter and, above all, to the kids in his life who have provided him with the greatest of all his adventures.

Greg is a graduate of Ruth Denney’s High School for the Performing & Visual Arts in Houston, a 2019 Houston Arts Alliance grantee for his one-man film, “Sam Houston & Augustus Allen on WGPA’s Time Travel Radio!,” (www.TimeTravelRadio.org) and a 2023 Houston Arts Alliance grantee for the production of this, his first one-man show.

Greg's has won 7-monthly Moth StorySlam contests, making him one of the winningest Moth storytellers in Texas. He was also co-host for 6 years of “So, What’s Your Story?,” the best storytelling radio program in Texas, created and produced by Dr. Hank Roubicek.
