Cuánto vale una heladera/Mesa de Saldos/Verona

three short plays by well-known Argentine playwrights Claudia Piñeiro & Claudio Regis

Cuánto vale una heladera (How much is a refrigerator worth)

Cuánto vale una heladera (How much is a refrigerator worth) is a funny and touching story about a woman who demands a new refrigerator after the one she bought burns out due to a power surge. This generates absurd situations that are too close to our reality. Written by one of the most widely read authors in Argentina and worldwide, the work subtly addresses, through humor, the theme of reclaiming identity in a modern, globalized, and bureaucratic world.

Directed by:
Marcela Salas

The Cast:
Sergio Amsel (Dr. Loche), Carolina Cutrera (Employee), Esteban Gago (Peralta), Ana Ilvento Scuseria (Announcer), Claudia Soroka (Piñeiro) & Jorge Zambra (Lobatti)

Run time: approximately 30 minutes

Verona humorously portrays a hilarious encounter of three sisters during their mother's 80th birthday. While others prepare to celebrate, they debate about life, have fun, confess, criticize, hurt, and reconcile, giving rise to an intimate world where not even the younger brother, who has arrived from Italy, will manage to enter. It is a warm and amusing work about the complexity of love and sisterhood.
