Following the success of their Houston debut Rebirth, Skylar Campbell Dance Collective returns with First Light — a vibrant evening of dance presented in collaboration with Voices of Arts Central, founded by Karina Gonzalez. First Light builds on the collective’s vision of independent, artist-driven dance, celebrating discovery, connection, and transformation through a bold mix of world premieres and celebrated works.

The program features choreography by some of today's leading and emerging voices, including Christopher Wheeldon, Danielle Rowe, Renato Zanella, Hank Lichtmacher, Ariel Rose, Kristina Paulin, Alejandro Gonzalez, and Karina Gonzalez. Highlights include the Houston premiere of Christopher Wheeldon’s haunting duet After the Rain, marking its long-awaited debut in the city; a world premiere by Prix de Lausanne Young Creation Award winner Hank Lichtmacher; and a new ensemble work by Karina Gonzalez. 

The cast includes acclaimed dancers Karina Gonzalez, Jessica Collado, Ryan Williams, Jackie Oakley, Gian Carlo Perez, Skylar Campbell, Sam Rodriguez, Zoe Lucich, Saela Rivera-Martinez, Augustin Lehner, and Alejandro Gonzalez.
