Omnes Purple is an immersive live choreography performance that fuses movement, sound, and storytelling into a cosmic journey rooted in Houston’s legacy. Set against a chopped and screwed soundscape crafted by a Third Ward DJ, the performance pays homage to the city’s rich musical traditions—honoring experimental jazz, hip-hop, psychedelic rock, rhythm and blues, vaporwave, and the timeless influence of DJ Screw.

The narrative unfolds as a group of voyagers traverse galaxies and planets imagined within the fabric of Houston itself. Skyscrapers transform into cosmic monuments, bayous stretch into rivers of stardust, and neighborhoods glow like constellations. In this interstellar landscape, a woman discovers love—an ethereal connection born of space, seduction, and motion—that guides her and her companions back home.

Movement is at the core of the work: choreography flows like orbiting bodies, shifting between grounded gestures and celestial sweeps, embodying both the gravity of Houston streets and the weightlessness of the cosmos. The soundscape, slowed and layered, envelops the audience in a haze of nostalgia and futurism, echoing the city’s pulse across time and genre.

Narration and audio clips from Houston legends—including Fat Tony, Z-Ro, James Prince, and Beyoncé—ground the performance in lived history, weaving voices of resilience, innovation, and artistry into the voyage. Together, their words become constellations guiding the dancers’ path, illuminating the depth of Houston’s cultural galaxy.

Omnes Purple is both a celebration and a meditation: a tribute to the artists who shaped Houston’s musical legacy, and a vision of how their sounds and spirits continue to carry us—through galaxies, through love, and back home.
