Hailed as “the female voice of the Spanish guitar” by Opera World Magazine, Andrea Gonzalez Caballero is an extraordinary talent, enchanting audiences worldwide with her impeccable skills and evocative performances. A record-breaker, Andrea is the youngest guitarist to win First Prize at the prestigious “XIII Alhambra International Guitar Competition” (Valencia) and has also claimed First Prize and Special Prize at the “XL International Competition F. Sor” (Rome).

BBC Music Magazine recognizes Andrea as one of the bright, emerging stars of the classical guitar world. She’s captivated audiences in renowned venues like Palau de la Música in Barcelona, National Auditorium, and Juan March Foundation in Madrid. In Germany, Andrea has shared the stage with Sinfonietta Ratingen and Neue Philharmonie Westfalen. As a soloist, she’s been handpicked by the International Guitar Foundation of London to perform at international music festivals, including the “London Guitar Festival,” delighting concert-goers at iconic locations like King’s Cross in London and Sage Gateshead in Newcastle.

Andrea’s 2017 Naxos CD showcases her diverse talents, featuring new guitar compositions alongside works from legendary composers like B. Britten, Albéniz, and Tárrega. This critically acclaimed album earned her the Golden Melomano distinction by Melomano Magazine, with glowing reviews that described it as “delicate, elegant, and majestic.”

A passionate advocate for education, Andrea has been generously supported by prestigious institutions like the “Alexander von Humboldt Foundation,” “DAAD” (German Academic Exchange Service), “AIE” (Society of Performing Artists of Spain), and “Provincial Council of Guipuzcoa.” These opportunities allowed her to study at the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany, where she graduated with honors. Most recently, Andrea earned a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and received the James Winship Lewis Memorial Prize.

Dedicated to expanding the classical guitar repertoire, Andrea has premiered works by esteemed composers such as Sergio Assad, Joaquín Clerch, Carlos Fernando López, and Dustin Carlson. Her recent projects include a role in the film “No Man’s Land,” where she co-composed and performed part of the soundtrack. Furthermore, Andrea has collaborated with Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning composer and producer Carlos Fernando López on the release of “EUSKARAZ.”
