Amerikan Boy follows a young Nigerian immigrant navigating identity, masculinity, family pressure, and the desire to belong in America. The story is loosely based on personal experiences of Tobe Mokolo, a Nigerian who immigrated to America, specifically the southwest side of Houston, TX.
