Aperio, Music of the Americas presents GUITARISSIMO, an evening that puts the guitar at the center of the music of North and South America. Isaac Bustos and Alejandro Montiel, two founding members of the acclaimed Texas Guitar Quartet, are joined by GRAMMY- and Cubadisco-winning clarinetist Ernesto Vega and cellist Daniel Saenz. The program moves from the Brazilian lyricism of Heitor Villa-Lobos to the Andean-inspired soundworld of Gabriela Lena Frank. It ends with John Truitt’s riveting Fin de Fiesta.
