Position Purpose:

The Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston (MATCH) is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Facility Maintenance Technician. To join our team, please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications.

Status:

Full time - exempt

Essential Job Duties:

• Regularly inspect and assess key building components including electrical, plumbing, lighting fixtures, doors, etc. and perform repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Perform general maintenance tasks as needed including patching and painting of walls, furniture assembly and repair, floor repair and painting, etc.
• Engage, schedule and manage outside vendors for repair and maintenance work that cannot be performed in-house.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance with outside vendors and supervise outside vendors when maintenance is being conducted.
• Ensure cleanliness of breezeway and grounds and clean those areas when needed, including power washing, leaf blowing and picking up trash. 
• Assist custodial staff with deep cleaning of various parts of the facility as needed.
• Maintain inventory and order custodial supplies in coordination with custodial staff.
• Perform tasks in preparation for events as directed by Director of Production, including setting up and breaking down of chairs, moving pianos and other equipment, operating floating walls, etc.
• Complete special projects and other related duties as directed by senior staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education / Work Experience:

• Technical degree or equivalent work experience.

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to lift, carry and position light (15 lbs consistently) to heavy weight (50 lbs occasionally) objects and push / pull equipment of equal weight is required including the utilization of proper body mechanics and techniques.
• Use of proper sanitary precautions when handling trash.
• Ability to perform simple tasks independently and be self-motivated.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and construction techniques.
• Basic computer skills including email, online calendars and task management.

Working Conditions:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, use ladders and perform various types of manual labor.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be expected to work outdoors in hot, cold or wet conditions.
