KIMA (Keep Indie Media Alive) is a hybrid storytelling initiative that blends short film and live theatre into a single audience experience. KIMA is a Houston-based collaborative film project bringing together emerging actors, filmmakers, musicians, and creatives to produce a collection of original cinematic monologues and short-form stories. Created by director/producer Kevin Tati and composer/producer Matias Chavez, the project culminates in a live showcase at MATCH celebrating the artists, performances, music, and creative process behind the films.ABOUT THE CREATORSKevin Milton Tati is a multidisciplinary storyteller whose work bridges film, theatre, and immersive experiences. Drawing from a life shaped across the United Kingdom, Brazil, and the United States, he creates original work that brings artists and audiences together through bold, collaborative storytelling.As the Lead Producer of KIMA (Keep Indie Media Alive), Kevin is developing a hybrid model that combines original films, live theatre, and immersive experiences. His training includes the New York Film Academy, The Art Institute of Austin, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. His work includes starring in the award-winning short film An Actor Prepares and serving as a judge for two Houston-area film festivals.Matias Chavez is a Houston-based composer, producer, filmmaker, and founder of Amimore LLC. His work spans original music, film scoring, visual storytelling, and film production. He is a recipient of the AMD Emerging Talent Award at the Global Entertainment Awards for his trailer work on “INFINITY,” and his creative work has included projects presented through MATCH as well as involvement with Houston's independent film community. For KIMA, Chavez serves as co-creator, producer, and composer, developing the project's music and helping oversee its production.
