Blood and Water, written and performed by Rachel Brill, is the emotional journey through the passionate yet forbidden love story between a Jewish woman and a Palestinian man. Based on a true story, it is Romeo and Juliet meets the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, set in modern-day New York City. The story navigates the delicate terrain of a couple in love, yet on opposite sides of a conflict larger than themselves. Through their romance, the couple is forced to confront and challenge their lifelong beliefs, families, and societal expectations, in order discover if blood is thicker than water or if love is a force strong enough to conquer all.

Rachel Brill is a New York City based actress, writer, and theater educator. Her original solo show, Blood and Water made its debut at the United Solo Theater Festival and has since toured at such festivals as The ONE Fest, NYC FringeBYOV, and Houston Fringe. In addition to her theater work, Rachel has a short film ‘Wombanhood,’ is currently in production. Rachel is very grateful for the opportunities to perform, her friends, family, and director for their continued support.
