Celebrating diversity and cultural awareness, Rice University Arts of Tolerance presents Dance for Humanity Series, an exciting and dynamic program uniting people from multiple cultural backgrounds into one program.
This panoramic view of world cultures through movement and costumes exemplifies the title the City of Houston has received as ‘Most Diverse’. Through dance, the initiative seeks to be a reflection of the beauty and power that as a community we can find when we come together for a common good. From dance companies to soloists, the artists for the series feature local, national and international artists representing many cultures from as far as Asia to Africa to the American continent and beyond.
A special feature of Dance for Humanity Series is the presentation of works by world renowned Cuban choreographer and master teacher, Alexis Zanety; recent recipient of a Certificate of Congressional Recognition and Proclamation from the City of Houston for his amazing artistic career and his disposition of using the arts to improve communities.
