This showcase of art, collectibles, and memorabilia is a tribute to the late Jimmie Menutis, whose life and work illustrate in colorful fashion, the spirt that made Houston a great place to live and prosper. A lifetime artist and collector, this exhibit includes items he "picked" for the retail "junk shop" he operated in his later years, along with historical pieces from his amazing exploits as a nightclub operator, his service as a wartime cartoonist for the Stars and Stripes, and his business endeavors. This spotlight will also shine on his loving wife Ruth Ann, whose successes in the fashion, retail, real estate and hospitality worlds shine as bright as those of her late husband, her biggest fan and stalwart partner in all that life brought their way.
Wild At Art II, the second in this series beneftting the StellaNova Foundation's efforts to help Houstonians with mental health issues secure treatment and care, will also feature works related to or depicting Houston during the 1950's - 1980's. Featured artists include Kaima Marie, Phyllis Hand, Ray Hand, Emily Jaschke, and Bob Webb.
