TAKE~OFF with Uptown Dance Company, celebrating the 23rd season, featuring 3 new premiers including founder and artistic director Beth Gulledge-Brown, Resident Choreographer Andre Silva principal dancer of Texas Ballet Theatre and Krissy Richmond former principal dancer of Houston Ballet and Broadway Star.
Red, White and Blue, new work by founder and artistic director Beth Gulledge-Brown celebrating our country heritage through lively neoclassical dance and American music by Howard Hanson.
Indigenous, the new work by Resident Choreographer and principal dancer of Texas Ballet Theatre Andre Silva inspired by distinct tribe that thrived in Brazil in the early 15 century, music by Quarteto de Flautas Bahia given the Houston audience a taste of music, energy and diversity.
Sinatra, the new work by Krissy Richmond is an inspiration from one of the most iconic vocalists in the 20th century Frank Sinatra. His music has transcended generations and continues to inspire up and coming artists. "I have always wanted to choreograph to his music and working with the dancers from Uptown Dance Center will be a perfect collaboration." says Krissy.
