Denisov Antrepriza, one of Houston’s leading Russian language theaters, proudly presents the hilarious comedy French Dessert—performed in English.

Set in the charming suburbs of Paris, the play follows Bernard and Jacqueline, a married couple whose plans take an unexpected turn when their friend Robert arrives for a visit. Jacqueline, originally intending to see her mother, abruptly cancels her trip upon hearing the news. Soon after, two young women—Suzette and Suzanne—enter the scene. Both share the nickname “Suzy,” sparking a whirlwind of misunderstandings, absurd suspicions, and comical entanglements. As Bernard and Jacqueline struggle to protect their relationship amid the chaos, the story unfolds with delightful unpredictability—ending as surprisingly as it begins.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:

Anna Shchelokova has been on the stage of the theater since the age of 15. Director of Denisov Antrepriza Theater (Houston, Texas, USA) since July 2010. She studied acting at The Hartford Conservatory, graduated from Saratov MAEO, as a theater director; finished acting and directing professional skills improvement courses at GITIS in Moscow. Prize "For the best main female part" of the "Theatrical Spring-2000" festival (actress, "Open Couple" play). Audience Choice Award at the “Dolgoprudny Spring 2022” festival (director, “Two for the seesaw” play). Laureate of the "Silver Archer-USA 2015" Award - Communications in the Global World, as the head of the "Denisov Antrepriza" theater. She has played more than two dozen roles and staged more than two dozen performances in Russian and in English in Russia and the USA.
