Samskriti proudly presents dancer extraordinaire Praveen Kumar from India, two-time winner of the prestigious Madras Music Academy's coveted title of 'Best Dancer in the Senior Category.' Praveen is a highly respected performer, choreographer and teacher, and is considered one of the top male dancers in India today. His latest work, SAKHYA, meaning 'friendship,' is a thematic exploration, from a man's perspective, of emotions and feelings in his relationships with others, as a friend and a companion. Through the ancient classical dance form of Bharatanatyam, through traditional compositions, and through evocative hand gestures, myriad facial expressions and exciting rhythmic footwork sequences, Praveen brings to the stage a captivating performance that brings into focus the intrinsic meaning of the word SAKHYA.
