About

Mezclada Dance Company is dedicated to celebrating diversity by blending cultures and dance styles to create harmonious, original, and widely relatable works. Through both performance and outreach, Mezclada uplifts underrepresented dance forms—particularly Latin and Hip Hop dance—while building bridges across communities.

The company presents full-length concerts and educational shows both locally and nationally. Most recently, Mezclada premiered its newest evening-length work, Mind, Body, and Soul, at the Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston (MATCH). Nationally, Mezclada has performed alongside multi–Grammy Award-winning Arturo O’Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra in New York as part of collaborative cultural programming. Mezclada's upcoming performances include “De Aqui!” as a Performing Arts Houston Artist at the Wortham Center in March, 2026 and  “A Mezclada Holiday Special” at the MATCH in December, 2025.

In Houston, Mezclada is currently touring two impactful educational shows: Percussive Movement, which explores the relationship between percussion and dance across cultures, and Each One Teach One, a vibrant showcase of the diverse dance styles found within Hip Hop culture.

Mezclada is proud to be a member of the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Roster, an Arts Connect Partner providing dance education in HISD schools, and a BIPOC Arts Network & Fund Peer-to-Peer Mentorship Partner, continuing its mission to connect, educate, and inspire through movement.

Mezclada has previously choreographed, instructed, worked with the University of Houston, Bates Dance Festival, Bailando Dance Festival, Theater Under The Stars, Lamar University, Principia College, University of Milwaukee-Wisconsin, San Jacinto College, Houston Community College, Westside High School, South Houston Early College, Dobie High School, and Pin Oak Middle School.
