Our Vision
More Art for More People
Our Mission
Mid-America Arts Alliance strengthens and supports artists, cultural organizations, and communities throughout our region and beyond. We achieve this primarily through our national traveling exhibition programs, innovative leadership development, and strategic grantmaking. We are especially committed to enriching the cultural life of historically underserved communities by providing high quality, meaningful, and accessible arts and culture programs and services. Each year, M-AAA’s programs reach one million people.
Who We Are
We are a nonprofit, regional arts organization—representing Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas—that focuses on strengthening communities and improving lives through extraordinary cultural experiences.
We are artists, administrators, historians, preservationists, preparators. We are writers, painters, photographers, activists.
What We Do
M-AAA’s programs are provided through three main focus areas: Arts and Humanities Programming, Arts and Humanities Grantmaking, and Professional Development. Nationally, M-AAA provides more than 450 performances, exhibitions, and professional development activities, and some 1,000 related educational programs. Each year, M-AAA serves an average of one million children and adults.
We believe that the arts are a source of lifelong learning and renewal, and that access to extraordinary cultural experiences should not be limited by geography or economics. Our core purpose is to create more art for more people.
