Threads presents a new chamber program that intersects Brazilian music with Hindustani, Cuban, Turkish, and American traditions to explore music as a form of heritage preservation, community building, resistance, and storytelling. Four new commissions by Erberk Eryilmaz, Jorge Amado, Akshaya Tucker, and Christopher Lowry form a program that celebrates the role music outside of the concert halls. Interpreted by the performers - Caio Diniz (cello), Matt Lammers (violin), Eamon Riley (cello) and Christopher Lowry (viola) - these works exist in the space between our mutual cultural backgrounds.
