We all have wants, needs, and dreams. Sometimes the difference between the three can get blurry. Sometimes there is no difference, a dream IS not only a want but a NEED. Alliance was birthed out of a great need in the Houston community. A need for artists with disabilities to have a platform for their gifting. A need for artists with disabilities to have not just a job they get paid for, but a passion that pays. Each individual deserves to love what they do and get paid for it. Alliance was birthed out of a need to see more diversity on our stages. Houstonians need to see people like themselves portrayed in the arts. Houstonians need to see people unlike themselves portrayed in the arts. Alliance was birthed out of a need to remember that we are all different yet the same. We are here to celebrate abilities through the arts and remind each other that no one is replaceable. Theatre is by the people and for the people which means it needs to reflect the diversity of the people.
