Mission

Center for Indian Classical Music of Houston (CICMH), is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, whose unique mission is to present the many facets of the 5000-year-old traditional art-form of Indian Classical Music in the most holistic manner.Under the aegis of our founder, Indian Classical Music maestro, Pandit Suman Ghosh, CICMH strives to reveal the underlying meditative values and the ingrained richness of Indian Classical Music. From providing hands-on training directly from Pandit Ghosh, a Guru of world repute, to staging various thematically intriguing events involving budding musicians as well as stalwarts from this field, CICMH aims to make the panorama of experiencing Indian Classical Music accessible to every individual, irrespective of their background, lifestyle or occupation.Beginning with the enrichment of the Greater Houston community, our mission is to bring peace and harmony in the world by crossing all man-made barriers and weaving together the peoples of this world with the purity of seven notes.

Center for Indian Classical Music (CICMH) was founded in 2008 by Hindustani Classical Music maestro, Pandit Suman Ghosh, to spread the rich tradition of Indian Classical Music to the Western Hemisphere.CICMH presents various thematically intriguing events featuring budding musicians as well as stalwarts, making the panorama of experiencing Indian Classical Music accessible to every individual, irrespective of their background, lifestyle or occupation. Through its programs, CICMH has cultivated a musical ecosystem in Houston, enhancing diversity in the community through increased cultural, ethnic and social understanding. Beginning with the enrichment of the Greater Houston community, CICMH aims to bring peace and harmony in the world by crossing all man-made barriers and weaving together the peoples of this world with the purity of seven musical notes.The Mayor of Houston has awarded proclamations to both CICMH and founder Pandit Ghosh, in recognition of their work in the community. The Cities of Stafford TX and Sugar Land TX have also awarded similar proclamations.
