25 de Noviembre o El Comportamiento de las Mariposas

"El 25 de noviembre o el comportamiento de las mariposas" is a theatrical production that narrates the story of the Mirabal sisters, who were assassinated in the Dominican Republic in the 1960s when they initiated a movement against the brutal Trujillo dictatorship. The play presents the story through the perspective of Dedé, the surviving sister, in an engaging and emotionally resonant manner. Teatro Loft is committed, like Dedé, to telling history so that it is not repeated. However, the main purpose extends beyond this narrative, serving as a vehicle to address the widespread issue of real-world violence against women and girls. It also serves as a platform for expressing our collective stance against dictatorships, violence, and intolerance.

The Loft Theater is pleased to present a tribute to bravery and memory. This November 25, 2023, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.Read more
