6 Degrees premieres POP DEMO a dance/theatre experience by Toni Leago Valle. POP DEMO is an imaginative blend of political commentary, offbeat theatre, aerial, contemporary dance, and visual projections, set in a stylistic Pop Art décor. POP DEMO is a historical perspective through political cartoons of how the ideas of popular democracy, extremism, and propaganda have shaped and warped American political and cultural beliefs, ultimately attempting to overthrow democracy.

Composer George Heathco’s original compositions are played live by a 5-piece ensemble, George Heathco and the Anti-Defamation Orchestra. Pop Art costume designs by Judy Masliyah and Toni Valle, and lighting design by Hudson Davis.Read more

Get inside the dance as NobleMotion delivers raw physicality and visually alluring worlds that turn logic upside-down.

NobleMotion kickstarts its 15th season with PowerPlay, a radical evening of dance featuring 3 world premieres that employ artificial intelligence, multi-media design, and NobleMotion’s trademark physicality. Section 6 immerses the audience in a simulated A.I. training program as dancers invite participants into the action-packed performance. Sidelined playfully looks at power dynamics as it creates an absurd world where baseball umpires define the rules of the workplace. And Half-told Stories reveals a pivotal moment in the life of four women and features a collaboration with composer/multimedia artist Badie Khaleghian.Read more

Gonzalo André 30th Anniversary Concert

Gonzalo André 30 Anniversary is a concert that will display the versatility of this Peruvian born artist through different genres such as Peruvian Creole music, Argentine Tango, Puerto Rican  rhythms, Bolero, South American folk, Italian “canzonetas," Mariachi music and more. The Texas New Music Festival is a vibrant international summer music festival bringing contemporary aesthetics to the Houston community through both world-class performances and lectures, while providing career building opportunities for a broad range of international musical artists throughout various stages of their careers.

Located in the heart of Texas, the TNMF runs from July 10 - 16, 2023. TNMF hosts all of its events at the Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston (MATCH). 

In just one week, attendants can expect to premiere their works chamber during one of our four concerts, attend focal sessions with out guest composer, take part in our in-house film festival, take part in Roundtable Sessions, and attend a variety of lectures by our festival faculty!Read more
