- Local level: we care for the homeless in our city, and we decided to channel our efforts donating 20% of the funds we raise in 2017, through "Houston Coalition for the Homeless" (homelesshouston.org)
- National level: we care for the HIV/AIDS rights, that's why we will donate to the National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (nlaad.org), and work with the Latino Commission on AIDS (latinoaids.org) and to the Broadway Cares/Equity Fight AIDS (broadwaycares.org)
- International level: we care for the humanitarian crisis happening in Venezuela, and we decided to channel this help through the "Hermanitas de los Pobres de Maiquetía" (a congregation of nuns dedicated to assisting the elderly, and the poor) We will donate 20% of the funds, and organize a food drive of non-perishables to be sent to them.
Passion - Latin Jazz by Raquel Cepeda Music
Join us on Saturday, October 19 for Passion - Latin Jazz!
Jazz singer and songwriter Raquel Cepeda is celebrating the release of her new album—Passion—with a CD release concert and gala performance. Cepeda’s latest release is her most personal to date: a Latin jazz mosaic of 13 pieces, polishing five original compositions among gems from North and South American repertoires. The album’s progressive arrangements blend American swing elements with Afro-Cuban and Afro-Brazilian rhythms while incorporating further influences from Argentina and Venezuela.
The 7:30 PM album release concert is sponsored by the Houston Art Explosion Festival and will be held at Matchbox 4, followed by the gala from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM at the MATCH Gallery. Works by renowned Venezuelan artist Roberto Weill will serve as backdrop for live performances by a variety of musical artists as gala guests enjoy food and drinks, a chance to meet and greet Cepeda in person, and a copy of the new CD.
