London, England, Christmastime, 1883...
When the holiday extravaganza planned for the city's fabled Crystal Palace is suddenly cancelled, friends of the hall's manager rally to save the day. Composer Arthur Sullivan, of Gilbert-and-Sullivan operetta fame, volunteers to assemble an orchestra, and four out-of-work street entertainers offer to stage a holiday "panto" version of the beloved fairy tale, "Cinderella."
Combine those elements with popular Victorian-Era Christmas carols and ballroom dances, parlour and music-hall songs, children's singing games and a Winter Solstice Mummers' Play, and you have Revels Houston's 2019 celebration of The Christmas Revels.
