In a time when truth is often stranger than fiction, Tamarie’s chock full of veracity, spouting truths about her show, society, basically the whole stinking world. And also her flossing habits. Tamarie and her mostly fearless, occasionally fearsome crew will snark, sing, and dance their way through twisted encounters with Tinkerbelle, Pinocchio, Ben Franklin, Kenny Rogers, and Tamarie's psychic high school attendance clerk, Mrs. Jones, who could catch you in any lie (and find stuff you lost too). Tamarie’s got some personal stuff to tell you too. Some real, some fake. Depends on where you get your news.

The Texas New Music Festival is a vibrant international summer music festival bringing contemporary aesthetics to the Houston community through both world-class performances and lectures, while providing career building opportunities for a broad range of international musical artists throughout various stages of their careers.

Located in the heart of Texas, the TNMF runs from July 10 - 16, 2023. TNMF hosts all of its events at the Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston (MATCH). 

In just one week, attendants can expect to premiere their works chamber during one of our four concerts, attend focal sessions with out guest composer, take part in our in-house film festival, take part in Roundtable Sessions, and attend a variety of lectures by our festival faculty!Read more

And Half-told Stories reveals a pivotal moment in the life of four women and features a collaboration with composer/multimedia artist Badie Khaleghian.Read more

Houston Fiddle Week and Brazos Music are thrilled to showcase Invoke, a versatile string quartet that features both bowed and fretted instruments in concert at MATCH. Houston Fiddle Week, a program of Brazos Music, is an all-ages string camp dedicated to building community through learning and performing various musical styles.

Described as “...not classical but not, not classical – Invoke is beautiful, adventurous, American and immediately engaging” (David Srebnik, SiriusXM Classical Producer), Invoke strives to successfully dodge even the most valiant attempts at genre classification. The multi-instrumental quartet’s other not-nots encompass traditions from across America, including bluegrass, Appalachian fiddle tunes, jazz, and minimalism. Fueled by their passion for storytelling, Invoke weaves all of these styles together to form a unique contemporary repertoire, featuring original works composed by and for the group. This passion also inspired Invoke’s ongoing commissioning initiative “American Postcards,” in which they draw on composers from all backgrounds to help tell the stories of America, piece by piece.Read more

David Lynch's masterpiece Blue Velvet will screen and be opened with a live performance by highly regarded jazz singer and songwriter Raquel Cepeda as our July event! As homage to the music of the film and enigmatic nightclub singer played by Isabella Rossellini, Raquel Cepeda will stir you with her sultry jazz vocals before the film accompanied by pianist William Sigismondi.
