2021 Fall Showcase

featuring "Aurora's Wedding" from The Sleeping Beauty

The Fall Showcase features an abridged staging of the third act from Petipa's The Sleeping Beauty, with principal guest artists Connor Walsh and Chae eun Yang from Houston Ballet performing the final wedding pas de deux.

The evening presents dancers of the Bayou City Ballet Youth Company in classical ballet, as well as in premiere neo-classical and contemporary works by Nao Kusuzaki and Lindsay Cortner created for the Youth Company. The program also includes two short guest performances by artists of Creative Minds Collaborative and the University of St. Thomas Dance Department.Read more

La Reina de la noche

La Reina de la noche is an electric performance of drag, burlesque, pole and contemporary dance fused with high fashion, vogue, and avant-garde concepts. The performance is centered around January a drag artist from Houston, TX. It takes us through her journey as an artist/performer in New York City. The show features local creatives, singers, DJ and HIV organizations and promotes HIV awareness, education, and access to honor the LGBTQIA+ community and those affected by HIV. Read more

The Drama Squad

Last spring, Catastrophic dispatched teams to the backyards and driveways of audience members to perform entirely original work in a masked, socially distanced format for no more than 10 audience members at a time. This fall, The Drama Squad will take it to another level in outdoor spaces where we can perform for larger audiences while continuing to implement the same safety measures as before. Audiences will experience a wildly creative variety show consisting of original pieces created by Catastrophic artists, including music, dance, comedy, drama, puppetry, and a really twisted clown!

Creators and performers are: Afsaneh Aayani, Tamarie Cooper, Greg Dean, Joe Folladori, Bryan Kaplún, Scott Lupton, Mara McGhee, Patrick Reynolds, Erin Rodgers, Alli Villines, and Abraham Zeus Zapata.

Prevention Zone Inc's goal is to provide a forum for sharing and planning research, scholarship, and health policy in the field of correctional health. The Catalyst For Change Community Form will organize conversations in order to encourage cross-sector, multi-disciplinary conversations, to expand our collective understanding of approaches to justice issues especially as they align with other systems such as via education, health care, community development, etc.
