Mezzo-soprano Jessica Blau (Portland Opera, Opera Cultura) collaborates with pianist Katherine Ciscon (Houston Ballet) and internationally acclaimed flamenco dancer Fanny Ara to present an evening of French and Spanish art song, exploring themes of exoticism and the Western concept of “the Orient." Songs by French composers are contrasted with authentic expressions of Spanish culture by native composers and expressed visually through lyrical flamenco dance. Read more
