Double Bill: WindSync and Invoke
WindSync is joined by their friends in invoke, an Austin-based string quartet, for a meeting of the minds. Invoke performs as a standard string quartet on violin, viola, and cello, but they are just as comfortable with mandolin or banjo. The band's music encompasses traditions from across America, including bluegrass, Appalachian fiddle tunes, jazz, and minimalism. This Onstage Offstage Chamber Music Festival main stage concert offers an up-close and personal look at musical collaboration.Read more
Clarinet Quintets by Mozart and Brahms

Spheres of Influence
WindSync partners with the Lunar and Planetary Institute to combine music and space in this follow up to 2017's hit Voyager concert program. A speaker from the Lunar and Planetary Institute will present a mini-lecture about the Apollo moon missions, and WindSync will premiere music by Marc Mellits that honors the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. The hard-driving rhythms of Mellits' minimalist, funk-inflected music recall the technological obsession of the Space Race and the music styles emerging in the 1960s. Read more
