For one amazing week, Downtown Houston will Fade To Black!

Emerging from the urgent need to address the departure of Black artists seeking opportunities outside our city, Shabach Enterprise, a minority-led non-profit organization, has created a platform for prominent arts groups in the Downtown Houston district to show unified, meaningful support for the advancement of African-American artists.

In collaboration with our vibrant arts community, this festival will simultaneously showcase the diverse works of African-American performances in film, music, poetry, and theatre. It will also provide a dynamic lineup of workshops, performances, readings, screenings, and discussions to cultivate a greater appreciation for diverse perspectives.Read more

Untamed Soul

Untamed Soul

Created by Bryan Kelly, Chloe éClaire, Luz Figueroa

In Untamed Soul, memories flicker like candlelight in a cathedral of time—unfolding a man's journey through a life once lived and a love never forgotten. From the blood-red sands of the bullring, he begins to piece together the fragments of his soul as the matador he once was. At the heart of his memories is a trace of her—a romance that echoes through time.

In a town where memories fade, our matador struggles to piece together his fragmented past. Through dance, his conflicting recollections come to life: Was his love the contemplative Soledad, or the spirited Catalina? Did he witness a lovers' quarrel, a bullfight, or a stabbing? The haunting memory that eludes him holds the key—the truth about the girl who was the love of his life.

As dancers embody these memories, the matador's journey becomes clear—his quest to uncover the lost memory of her, the love that has been haunting him all along.

Set to the rhythm of Flamenco fusion and laced with the elegance of 1950s Spanish allure, Untamed Soul is a dance of memory and destiny, where every step pulls him closer to the truth... and to her.Read more
