Hear the inaugural speaker, nationally renowned choreographer and body-based artist EMILY JOHNSON discuss her work as a land and water protector, and organizer for justice, sovereignty and well-being.

Of the Yup'ik Nation and based in Lenapehokin, Johnson is a recipient of a Bessie Award, the Doris Duke Artist Award, and Fellowships from Native Arts and Cultures Foundation, Forge Foundation, Braiding Seeds, United States Artists, and Guggenheim Foundation, among others.Read more

Métro Boulot Dodo is a performance in four movements sonically exploring the evolution of work and labor from nature to industry, into its present form. Borrowing from the French expression, the title makes reference to the dominating presence of work in our lives and its prioritization in the United States as the country pursues its shift from a collective experience, to the hyper individualistic. In investigating the changing soundscape, the work aims to collectively imagine what the future can hold as we begin the shift into a more techno driven future.Read more
