Each person’s musical upbringing is unique. Even so, footprints of mutual cultural influence can be traced everywhere.
REFRACTED magnifies the commonalities among the performers and the experiences of composers Catarina Domenici, Erberk Eryilmaz, Alice Hong, and Tian Qin. Interacting with Emily’s Japanese-American upbringing, Caio’s Brazilian heritage and Nicholas’ fiddling background, each composer brings to life a new string trio that refracts the collaborators’ musical inheritances into a new, collective soundscape.Read more

Artists For People is a two-night community benefit concert that brings together local Houston artists in solidarity with global and local struggles for justice. Through live performance, resource-sharing, and fundraising, we aim to support children and families in Gaza impacted by genocide, as well as our Houston neighbors affected by recent ICE raids and detentions. Our mission is to use art as a tool for collective action, resistance, and resource redistribution.
Come see dancers, musicians, vocalists, and other live performance artists in support for our local and global neighbors. This is a self-run, people-powered event featuring community-rooted art in support of Gaza supplies and immigrant aid in Houston— not affiliated with any institution — and all proceeds beyond covering the costs of this project will go directly to Gaza Sunbirds and the Houston Immigrant Legal Services Collaborative.Read more
