Artists For People is a two-night community benefit concert that brings together local Houston artists in solidarity with global and local struggles for justice. Through live performance, resource-sharing, and fundraising, we aim to support children and families in Gaza impacted by genocide, as well as our Houston neighbors affected by recent ICE raids and detentions. Our mission is to use art as a tool for collective action, resistance, and resource redistribution.

Come see dancers, musicians, vocalists, and other live performance artists in support for our local and global neighbors. This is a self-run, people-powered event featuring community-rooted art in support of Gaza supplies and immigrant aid in Houston— not affiliated with any institution — and all proceeds beyond covering the costs of this project will go directly to Gaza Sunbirds and the Houston Immigrant Legal Services Collaborative.Read more

Open Dance Project presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a dance theater adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic comedy. Join Hermia as she runs away from an overbearing father into a forest filled with hapless young lovers, a feuding Fairy King and Queen, a mischievous sprite, and an uproarious band of amateur actors. Great for all ages, this humorous and poignant coming-of-age tale features an original score by Two Star Symphony’s Kirk Suddreath and John Duboise, puppets by Afsaneh Aayani, and Open Dance Project’s signature athleticism, theatrical antics, aerial silks, acrobatics, and good old fashioned family fun.
